Hey All
I was finally able to take some videos on my Canon 7D and had hard time converting them but someone recommended Pinnacle and i gotta admit it works great.
Here is the video i took. Nothing great just trying the camera.

I still dont know why some shots are noisy and i still lost a great amount of quality when converted the .MOV file.

Looks like some really clean footage of a polar bear in a snow storm.

Seriously, all I'm seeing is an empty white screen.

The things that I am noticing are:

1. It is a beast to try to focus this thing using the small screen.
2. I don't think I like the eye piece to LCD method.
3. Think I will use a larger screen.
4. Don't trust the lcd, use the exposure tools or hand held meter to set exposure.
5. You will need Neutral Density filters shooting outside.
6. Panning is not as bad as some make it out to be, just use a faster shutter.
7. I found no need for UDMA cards...so far.

thanks for the reply
do i need a UV filter for shooting outside or an ND filter? the ND filter seems to be very expensive unlike the UV and i heard UV is needed for shooting outdoor videos so i just want to make sure

I think all filters are UV filters. It's just that a "UV" filter does just that.

The ND filters will allow you to shoot in 24p at 1/50 @ f4.0 (or whatever). Just cuts out some light (1 to several stops depending on the filter) so you can stay in the shutter/f-stop sweet zone in bright light.

I don't use UV filters.
To me, they are just added glass that ruins the image.
Some are so low grade, you may as well bought a cheap lens.

Everything you put in front of your lens, usually makes it worse.
ND, on the other hand, the benefits out weight the reduction in quality.
