This was the first film we made with the canon 7D in December of last year. It was the film that got us started as a company in Indonesia. Shot with a Tamron lens 17-50mm and a shaky Velbon tripod. Watch it in 720p for the full experience.
Thanks for the feedback. I agree with the image quality. We used the Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II. (VC?) We have now changed to using a "flatter" image profile to increase the dynamic range of the 7D.And in this version I also might have cranked the contrast up a bit too much..Another Issues was the amount of Image Information coming from the Jungle (trees & leaves) making the compression more visible and adding to that "crushed" look you mentioned.
VC means Vibration Control same as IS (image stabilizing). yeh when i just started out i loved the crushed contrasty look for everything. iv now gotten to appreciate a flatter image. both are good ..just dpends on the mood of what you shoot.
I thing the contrast and saturation really worked for this piece. It invited me into the world more and I had no issues with it. Aside from a couple minor shaky shots (which I looked out for because you mentioned the tripod), it was an absolutely excellent piece. Great edit.
