Canon 7D and Aperture priority for movie mode

Hi
Can anyone tell me if it would ever make sense to use aperture priority in movie mode?
Under certain circumstances, in conjunction with evaluative metering, I could see it useful for timelapse sequences, but not so sure for movie mode.
Perhaps as a way to quickly get your exposure then lock it down?
