General CANON 60D VS T3i

I've been renting a T2I for the past three weekends to shoot b-roll at weddings. Now that I'm satisfied with the cams capabilities, lenses, etc., I'm in the market for a T3i or 60D. To adjust the aperture on the T2i or T3i you press and hold A/V and turn the wheel simultaneously. This works while recording. I've read that it is not possible to adjust the f-stop or even ISO while recording video with the 60D. Is this true?

No its not true...
You CAN adjust f-stop or ISO while recording with the 60D...

Seems one of the biggest hits the T2i/T3i take is
the mono audio and the fact you can't monitor that
while shooting. I fixed that by purchasing one of
these.

I'm still toying with it but first impressions are pretty
good. You can use it as a stereo microphone into
the T3i or record independently. Pretty cheap fix
at $150. It's a fun toy with many uses besides just
video audio capture.

I bought the DR-05 http://tascam.com/product/dr-05/ and I dont like it so far...
I havent got the time to REALY test it yet, but I think my old H1 (which is broken now) was cleaner...
Anyway I hope Im wrong and after playing around with it more, I ll find its sweet spot...

Quick Question - Help please.

Just wondering can anyone confirm if the T3i (US model) has 25p (PAL) framerate? Presumably Nikon lens adapters that work with the T2 will work with the T3?

Not certain on the framerate, but if the adapter works with the t2i then it will work on the t3i/60d/7d/5d since its the same mount. The only issue that I can think of that is a bit different is with older glass touching the mirror on the 5d which would require some adjustments. Anyhow.. to answer you question, yes your nikon lens that worked on t2i will work on t3i.

Yes the US model has 25p, as well as 24p & 30p at 1920x1080, and 50p & 60p at 1280x720.

All of the Canon DSLR cameras are designed and built as region independant (ie it is the same everywhere in the world). However, the Rebel line is marketed differently in different regions with a different name and badge. The only funtional difference I am aware of between any of the three regions is that the Japanese model (Kiss X5) only has Japanese and English menu's available, and not the 20+ other languages available on the other regions models. Apart from that, the only thing that should be different anywhere in the world for any of the Canon DSLR's is the power plug adaptor.

I have the European version which doesn't do 60p or 30p only 25p, 24p and 50p which I was a bit disappointed about to be honest. The US version seems much more international if it shoots all those different frame rates.

You might have to switch the region from Pal to Ntsc first.

I have a US version but I dont get 25 or 50 fps until I switch the region from Ntsc to PAL. And that is in a different part of the menu, which might make it hard to figure out.

Also with the new Magic Lantern firmware you now can select your framerate from 4 to 60 fps, though you might have to record audio separately.

Change your video system to NTSC if you'd like to access the 30p & 60p options.

Great, thanks guys. I guess I should've read the manual! 60p is better than 50p for slowmo so that's made my day.
