Canon 60D Review

LOVE the 60D. You have to hold one in your hands and USE it with decent, fast glass to appreciate it. There are better tools. 60D is a fantastic tool, and for those with more time than crew/money, it (and its like) will put many smiles upon your face. Frowns are self-induced.

Here's some quick footage from the first week or so of playing around. Mostly hand-held. Forgive the bad cc on last shot - used 10K Kelvin just to see what it looked like. Otherwise, auto WB.

(+)
- Beautiful footage - pre-rolling is sometimes useful
- Flip LCD is great - can't imagine not having it
- Incredible low-light (coming from DVX-100 Classic™) whole other league
- Ease of workflow - transcoding not too bad - easy to edit in FCP

(-)
- Live histo would be nice - is Magic Lantern being ported to the 60D?
- Changing ISO during recording is visual affair - lcd is usually trustworthy, but useless in sun
- Focus assist during recording would be nice.
- LCD hinge should be on top left, not middle - I often need to flip UP before I need to flip OUT ;-)
- Neckstrap frequently gets in way of lcd - you get used to it
- Yes, Virginia, aliasing and moire DO exist. Somehow they NEVER end up in my favorite shots

Some things I'd love to ask:

-Does the 60d have the extensive ISO's and White Balance temperatures that the 7d has?
-Does it have a feature that enables you to delete multiple pictures or files at once?
-Does it at least have the Live Histogram in picture mode, like the T2i?
-Does it have different exposure modes in Movie Mode?
-Does it have an auto-aperture feature in Movie Mode? (like the Auto-ISO option.)
-How much bigger is it than the T2i? Is it smaller than the 7d?
-Does it have an option for dialing in your own number for the timer?
-Does it truly expose using a new method that tells the general difference between color and light?

Thanks!

So is this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR2W0efxIHw&NR=1

It has quiet shutter modes <3

For a question, does anyone know what effect was done with that first guy's shutter speed/frame rate? It seems his video may be the result of some sort of UK to USA conversion, but I honestly am getting a bit addicted to a shuttery mouth look. I've seen it happen to even more noticeable effects and I don't know, it just stands out to me as somehow enhancing a more modern, digital look with interest. Any tips?
