General Canon 60D if I have Nikon lenses?

Hi,

I'm having some problems deciding on what to buy (oh no!).

I have a bunch of Nikon lenses but I like the Mbit-rate and specs of Canon 60D video.

I know you can use adapters on Canons with Nikon lenses. But is the hassle worth it? Am I better off getting a Nikon body like the D7000 just for the convenience of a solid F-mount without any jiggle, eventual looseness or infinity focus problems?

Anybody have experience with these adapters who might suggest that the adapter problems might make it worthwhile to get a Nikon D7000? Or are some adapters - Fotodiox pro adapters, for example, really rock solid and negate the adapter hassles?

I'm not a nikon or canon fanatic. I just own a whole bunch of nikon lenses, but have never tried canon adapters with them.

Thanks

i use a bunch of vintage lenses with leica-r, m42 and pentacon six mounts, then a fotodiox adapter (some "pro", some just standard), then a canon camera

they all work great, because they are old lenses with a ring to control the iris

the adapter lets the lens move a little bit, but it's a tiny "shift", never a "tilt", and never more than 0.5mm

I've used ultra-cheap ebay adapters, as well as fotodiox-pro adapters, and never found a difference in terms of image quality, even on high-res stills: that small shift is there, but doesn't seem very important

and I get infinity focus on all my lenses, as you should with your nikons

I've used a Cinevate adapter on my Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 and it works for video. But for stills, the exposure is all screwy on my 7D. I have a bunch of other Nikkors and I'm thinking of jumping ship, but I that will mean selling my "brick" which was calibrated to working condition.

I'm in the same boat. I have a GH1 on the way and adapters are a real pain. The Cinevate adapters are real solid, but don't know how they will hold up in the long run. There are some Cinevate knock-offs on ebay and they look okay. I'm just listening to the tests on the D7000 lately to see if it'll be all worthwhile.

What is so special to you about the Mbit rates on the 60D? The D7000 preliminary sharpness test looks better than the 60D's.
