General CANON 600D T3i - NEED HELP with Magic Lantern AGC

Hello. I want to buy a Canon T3i. I also own already a RODE NTG-2 shotgun mic. I heard lots about Audio Gain Control (AGC), which can be turned off with Magic Lantern and will take care of the "hiss"... but some people say, it's not possible to do it on T3i, some say it is in Canon's firmware already and some people say it's possible.

So, how is it then? Is turning AGC off possible in Canon's original firmware? Or is it possible with Magic Lantern?

Thank you.

On T3i you can turn off AGC from Canon's firmware, but it has noisy preamps which can't be adjusted at all. And since it has a different audio chip, Magic Lantern can't do anything to the audio side. It might change, but expect a few months (or maybe more).

Right now, for in-camera audio you may consider 550D, 60D or 5D2 (all 3 have the same audio chip).

But since you have the NTG-2, this has an XLR connector. You can connect XLR to 550D and 60D, but not on T3i ( http://magiclantern.wikia.com/wiki/Unified/UserGuide#input-source ); however, I don't think it's a practical solution.
