Canon 5dmkII vs. Sony HVR-Z7U Test Footage

Hi guys,

Just did a small un-scientific test with the 5dmkII and Sony Z7.
Technicolor Cinestyle on 5dmkII, Vortex Preset on Z7.

Excuse the thumbnail, it always go weird when I upload Prores 422.

Pedestrian Crosswalk:
Canon 5dmkII with 24-105 f4L
Sony HVR-Z7U with Zeiss 4,4-52,8 f1.6
attempted to frame similarly, however DOF was created by distance with Z7, the 5dmkII was about 2 meters away, z7 was at least 10m away.

Controlled Lighting:
Canon 5dmkII with ZE 50 f1.4 compared to Sony HVR-Z7U with Zeiss 4,4-52,8 f1.6

Zoom range test:
Sony HVR-Z7U with Zeiss 4,4-52,8 f1.6
Servo Zoom slow setting.

 
Two VERY Different cameras that are not even remotely close to what they do, other than record video.....


Now putting a 5d next to an Af-100 , Red or Sony F3 , F100 then we are talking......
 
What is Vortex preset?
For some reason, I found the Z7 is giving more details than the 5D..maybe it is just me...

The Vortex preset is the one suggested in the "Vortex Media Training DVD: Sony HVR-Z7U and S270 DVD Workshop by Doug Jensen"
