canon 50mm 1.8 or 1.4?

Is there a big difference for video quality? I know my 1.8 is quite soft full open so should i toss the 1.8 and get the 1.4 for overall quality of video image when attached to the 7D?

the 1.8 seems sharper to me at smaller apertures than the 1.4 does

I agree, the 1.8 is a bit sharper but it is nice to have a little more bottom end.

Very true. However, I use gears and a follow focus on both so I forgot about that.
