GH2 Canon 24mm FD F2 Lens Test

Well thanks for that Bitchrusher. Your shots look great in a nice variety of lighting conditions. The lens is clearly very sharp as all reports have said, and it has lovely neutral colour balance.

It is surprising how wide the lens looks on m4/3. It is equivelant to a 45mm lens on a full frame camera conformed to 16:9, but feels plenty wide enough for anything with video, except perhaps an establishing/ location shot or specialist in car shooting etc.

Anyway, lovely stuff. Many thanks
Lucas

I really think this guy is a solid performer. It lacks some of the magic of my 50mm 1.2L in color and contrast but is still a nice normal lens. I still want to see what the 24mm 1.4L is like but those are so hard to get, and when you do find one they can be expensive.

I have to say your last shot with the little kid looks very good.
Did you shoot it in nostalgic?

Apparently nowhere near as good, I've read. Check these tests out: http://home.comcast.net/~starka/24mm/24mmIntro.htm

According to those tests, you already have the best of the bunch!
