1DC: Canon 1DC Firmware Version 1.3.9 Announced Texas Media Systems

I meant that if you check the Canon US firmware page: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/professional/standard_display/cinema-firmware-1dc, they are still showing the old firmware as the most recent update. I also think that Canon started contacting owners the last time a firmware update came out.

Has anyone confirmed if the latest Firmware Version 1.3.9 catches the 1DC up with the 1DX firmware? Meaning does the new 1DC update add the previous autofocus features that the 1DX received in the past?

I had my 1Dc updated to 1.3.9 at the NJ Service Center - I dropped off the camera a 11am and got it back at 2pm the same day.

I can confirm that it does NOT have the 1Dx firmware 2.0.3 features.
I specifically checked the features below and I did not find any of them in the menus.

* AF: New “-1” and “-2” settings in Accel./Decel. tracking

* AF: Expanded range of “AI Servo 2nd image priority” settings

Speed priority now has “-1” and “-2” options
Focus priority now has “+1” and “+2” options

* Orientation Linked AF:
Separate AF points: Point only (new with firmware version 2.0)

* Initial AF pt, AI Servo AF
Manual [different AF Area icons] AF point (new with firmware version 2.0)

* Set up to 1/8000th second as “minimum speed” before Auto ISO raises the ISO setting (previous minimum was 1/250)


* Playback: display only “protected” images

Adding new features will not happen, as development specifically for 1D C has discontinued, they only do maintenance (fixing bugs in existing firmware).

How do you know that development is over? I hope it isn't ! :undecided
