Canon 1D C irony with Atomos Ninja 2

Yes the HDMI constantly output signal not matter what mode you are in.

If you tap on the Ninja screen where it says 1080 60i or what ever, it will enable a pulldown so you get 24p

Hi Marvin, I've got another related question that I hope you could help me. For the 4K recording on 1DC, it requires the 100 mb/s, so based on Canon recommendation, one type of Sandisk and a few Lexar 1000X CF cards can be used. The Lexar 1000X is pretty expensive, and I bought one 128GB at $640 from Amazon; but one is not enough. Some people buy one type from Komputerbay at Amazon, 128GB 1000X and there are mixed reviews on this type. I noticed StillMotion used Belkin's 1000X when they borrowed one pre-production 1DC from Canon for a project and they claimed to have used a Belkin 64GB 1000X CF card. Belkin is cheaper than Lexar but the writing speed is only 80mb/s. I don't know if we can use it for 4K. Do you have any idea? Thank you.

Hi, the most affordable card for 1D C is the Komputerbay 128GB 1000x. So far people have been happy with this card, but i'm not sure how reliable it is in the long run. If you use it for paid work I would suggest stick to Canon's recommendation.

Why don't you get two 64GB? you can swap and transfer one of them while filming on the other. Plus 64GB card can hold about 15min of 4K footage, this is very similar to analogue film which is about 15min per reel.

Hi Marvin, sorry, the other brand of CF card that StillMotion used is Delkin, not Belkin as I put it in the previous post. Delkin even has 256GB CF card 1000X, but the write speed is 80MB/S. I don't know if this will work for 4K recording. The Komputerbay card does not even have the write speed spec.
