Can anyone advised the quality between Canon Cine and Zeiss CP.2 Lens? Just a brief one will do,since everyone has his own individual preference over look and quality. I'm about to get a set of 5 prime lens for my C300 but not sure to get which between the two.

I've used both extensively, and recently bought the 3 lens set of CN-E's (24, 50, 85). Both the Canon's and Zeiss are excellent cinema lenses and worth every penny. However, I prefer the CN-E's for their "Canon look" as I've never been fond of the more clinical image that comes from Zeiss lenses. The Canon's are a good bit faster than the Zeiss as well, and outperform even the Super Speed CP.2's at wide apertures. Build quality feels about as good as it gets. On the other side, Zeiss have interchangeable mounts, and the Canon's are slightly more expensive, so keep that in mind. The CP.2's are a complete set, and the CN-E's are missing a 35 at the moment (although one will be out by the end of the year).

My personal opinion is that the CN-E's give a nicer, more 'soulful' look than the CP.2's, and skin tones are especially nice. The CN-E's look fantastic, even wide open, and are sharper than their L-series counterparts & ZE equivalents. The Canon lenses are 'chipped,' so you get electrical readout of lens info and metadata. I think they are they best cinema lenses are their price point right now.

And the 24 is a very special kind of amazing.

Thanks Brian for your feedback. Yes, I think I preferred Canon CN-E but only tested the 50 & 85, that's why I am asking for opinion. Will decide once I can get hold of at least 3 CN-E demo lens to compare before ordering.
