canadian battery?

im looking for a battery and i found this on ebay... its not too expensive but i have a feeling that its a canadian battery (because its asking for canadian currency)... does anyone know if this will work with a ntsc model gh1. or maybe its not even candian... anyone have any idea

Canada is NTSC. They even get the same basic camera we do. Notice it comes with a manual in French. And even if it didn't, all hardware is going to be the same for all GH1 cameras. It's just how they record in some cases, the language in others.

I thought panasonic introduced a firmware update that will render 3rd party batteries about as useful as paperweights.

Firmware 1.1 prevents use of 3rd party batteries

Regardless what anyone tells you, if your GH1 has the latest firmware (Ver. 1.1) it will only work with a real Panasonic battery.
