Can you use the Cintre DATASync USB 2.0 OTG to record from the HVX

You cannot capture live to it, but you can use it to copy from the cards.

There are ways to avoid the cards if you want to; you can capture direct to a computer, or to a DVCPRO-HD tape deck, or to the FireStore.

Thank you Barry,

Ive just paid for my HVX202EN pal camera and just waiting for its delivery and wanted to know if this HDD was an option.

So If I use a 4GB P2 card I can off load it to the OTG HDD then shot again? This for me sounds like a cheaper option.

You can, yes.

It's not very convenient, but it does work. The main problem with this workflow is twofold: 1) it ties up the camera to do the offload, and 2) it's not all that fast; about 8 minutes for a 4gb card.

Thank you once again Barry.

This sounds like the workflow option i'll go with till the 126 GB cards come out. Videoguys here in Australia have told be when the 126GB P2 cards come out late this year which will bring the 4 and 8 gb cards down. Id love to have 2x 126 P2 P2 cards together however I would hate to know howmuch it will cost me.

I'll be using the HVX for short films at first, sci-fi and stock footage to sell.
Film at the moment for me is a hobbie which I hope to harnes into a full time job.

126gig cards this year??? Your Videoguys are mistaken. It'll be at least a couple years till we see a 128gig card. 16gig cards are next on the horizon. Even those are still a ways away.
