Can you cut together HV20 and T2i clips?

So, I have an HV20 and a T2i. I want to do some ground shots and some jib shots with a homemade jib I made. I am a little scared to put the T2i up there on the jib but I don't mind putting the HV20 on. My question is, if I did some ground shots with the T2i and some air shots with the HV20 could they be cut together without much noticeable difference? It will be mostly outside in the sunlight.

You're dealing with two totally different sensors that will give you a different gamma curve, a different dynamic range, different color rendition, etc. Best thing to do would be to make sure that the white balance is as close as possible on both of them, open up the iris as much as possible on the HV20 and stop down the iris on whatever lens you have on the T2i to get the DOF a little closer, or just stick with one camera.

+1 to Moseph. I would say though, I've been using my hv30 for interviews and shooting b-roll on my 60D for shallow dof - works for me. try shooting with both cameras set to the same colour balance pre-set as a start point.

As a starting point try the following settings:

HV20: Cinemode 25 (I am in PAL land), lock exposure, daylight balance, custom settings: color 0, sharpness 0, contrast 0, brightness -1

T2i: 1080p25, 1/50 f:8, daylight, ISO 100, custom settings: sharpness 2, contrast -4, saturation -1, hue -3. If you want a flatter look then take sharpness all the way down.

You can do slight adjustments from there as necessary in post.

If you like snappier images, you can boost the contrast of both cams, HV to +1, T2i to -2 or so.

If you want to burn out the highlights, then don't use cinemode, and boost the contrast on the T2i to the + side...
