Can the Canon 5D use regular SanDisk SD cards?

Can the Canon 5D use regular SanDisk SD cards? Rented one for this weekend but didn't order memory and getting worried now.

I don't believe so, just Compact Flash.

I've seen people use the eyefi cards with the cf adapters. Do a search and the websites will tell you which exact adapters work with the sd card. People use the sd eyefi cards to send low res jpegs to their ipads.
