Can Superman and Green Lantern ever be in the same shot?

So I'm facing a bit of a dilemma. How can a character in blue and a character in green be in the same low budget FX shot? (e.g. Blue screen/green screen).

Anyone know of any tutorials or have any experience in this?

I would think another screen colour for keying. It might not key as well, but I'd give it a try with some models and paper.

Do they need to cross paths during the shot? Perhaps you could hang two different screens and mask appropriately?

Failing that, if most of their skin is covered by suits, you shouldn't have too much problem pulling a key from a colour like red. I saw a feature about Jurassic Park where they had red screens out on location in natural environments. However, if you have a Superman character his cape could be an issue...

You can also try intensity-based approaches... a black or bright white background. There are also DIFFERENCE-based keying systems... if the camera is still, key out anything that's the same as in a "base" shot with no actors.

Don't they usually use special costumes for shots like that? Make a second blue Green Lantern costume, or a second green Superman costume and change those colors in after effects during post or something?

Ok, so Superman, the Green Lantern, and Snooki all need to be keyed out ... NOW what do you do?

Also, how did you jump up 10,000 posts?!
You know, in talking with the production team..........we can wrap Snooki. She isn't needed for this shot. For this production either, for that matter. Oh, and, can someone please fire the casting director for me? Thanks.

Hawk, Terry pay's off the Admin's here, so he's got juice. LOL!!!!!!!

Another option (depending on requirements) might be to shoot them each separately then composite the shots together in post.

Or perhaps use a super-bright white background and do a luma key instead of a chroma key?
