Can my Cannon HF200 act like Cannon 7D

Thanks for the response.

Is there a DV camera that has a size sensor of that size?

Nope. The closest one will be the Panasonic AF100 that will be coming out soon that has a much bigger sensor than the HF200, but not quite as big as the Canon, but still enough to get similar looks as the video you see. However, it will run about $6k once you put lenses on it.

Consider a Canon T2i. It can do it for $899 and the video is identical to the 7D. Throw a cheap $99 50mm F1.8 lens on it and you're really in business. I own the Canon HV20, which was hugely popular and is quite similar to your HF200. I never use my HV20 anymore. The T2i is in another league, especially after I added my own picture style.

The best you can do with the HF200 to simulate what you see is to back up from your subject and zoom in if you're wanting to get shallow depth of field. Then manually focus.
