Can I use a spare Dell 15" monitor?

Just bought a 19" monitor to replace my old 15" one...can I use the 15" as a monitor while filming a scene?

May be a dumb question but I am very new at this. Plus, I think I can, just thought I would ask.

Well keeping in mind your 15" isn't an HD monitor when not running thru a computer system.
You need a item that is designed for HD monitoring There are few out there a bit pricey but they exist.

Thanks for the input. So will I not be able to see anything at all? Was only going to use it for just framing up shots and things of that nature.
