7D Can I monitor sound from an HDMI monitor with headphone jack?

Thinking about using a wireless system (Senn GH2 or GH3) and running from the receiver straight into the 7D (1/8" to 1/8") and monitor sound through the an HDMI monitor with a headphone jack. Never tried this before, but want to get as small and light as possible. Will the 7D handle the signal okay from a wireless out? I am assuming sound will come through okay to the monitor to hear it. Is it delayed? Will try this with the new Magic Lantern software, so will have VU Meters on the screen (I think?).

Anyone done something like this? Trying to get away with not using the Zoom recorder on a solo verite shoot.

No, sorry, Canon DLSRs don't output live audio through the HDMI, only playback audio.
