Can I achieve this look with 60D?

Ok even though this was shot with a T2i, obvioulsy using ML. Could I still achieve this look and feel with the 60D. I plan on getting the Sigma 30mmm 1.4, Canon 85mm 1.8, and maybe the 50mm 1.8 or 1.4. I know color correction is also key, but as far as the 60D's capabilities along with the mentioned lenses, could I get that same quality from the link?

Yes. Magic Lantern might make some of it easier to pull off, but I'm sure you could do something similar on a stock 60D as well. A lot of it is about the workflow and knowing your tools.

They apparently know their tools, and used whatever works best for the task at hand. The use of Canon IS likely made the action shots smoother, as well as using the right stabilization gear and sliders (glidecam in this case). The lenses you mention don't appear to have IS, which means I wouldn't expect to do a lot of motion shots like you see in this clip. At least, not without a LOT of practice. Otherwise, sure.

Also, Magic Lantern is moving along on the 60D, and should be available pretty soon if things continue going well.

I particularly like that they chose to color correct in After Effects, and edit in Vegas. That happens to be my preferred workflow as well!

I don't have any other than the kit lens, personally. Its mostly used outdoors, where the kit lens is plenty sharp and stopped down anyway.
If you want something with IS that is more versatile, maybe go check out the lens section?

BTW- looking at their posted lenses used in that video (their setup really is eerily similar to mine), it appears the only IS lens is the kit one. The others may be L glass, but not all L series have IS. They only mentioned it by one of them.

You don't 'need' ML for this. It's been carefully exposed and nicely graded is all. You'll want a telephoto lens of some sort - the 2-shot early on as the man and woman walk in the woods is a good example of shallow depth of field separating your characters from their background, and it's a very cinematic look. Sadly, some of the wrong eyelines and line crossing are a bit distracting.

I always cringe when I see a thread titled "how do I get this look with my XXX camera?" as ALWAYS the case the look was created in post with the many tools available. In camera you want to get a well lit, nice flat image that can be easily graded. The lenses will matter how sharp the image is and affect your ability to do shallow depth of field depending on the speed.

Please read and study the forums and you will start to discover how to change "looks"
