Can high altitudes cause dirty heads?

I was climbing a small mountain the other day when my camera started giving me the 'dirty head' need cleaner warning. My camera was less than 2 months old with little if any use. I want to climb the mountain again with the camera but not sure if it will act up again.

How did it act up? A dirty heads warning is normal, and can take 20 seconds to fix. (including taking the tape out of the case and putting it into the camera

Just pop in the tape for 5 seconds and your done.

I don't think the mountain/high altitude had anything to do with the dirty heads!
