Worried that you crossed one of Jarred's lines and hoping he might not be moderating in the dark of the night during the holidays? Business plans for rental operations are not actually technical issues about a particular camera other than feedback on durability or the like.

I choose to post to your thread not because I relish trying to read Jarred's mind, or yours, but because I am interested in Red Co-ops. The primary reason is to create a network for mission critical back up availability amongst the owner-operator community. Since this seems to be the most active Red forum on the net it seems a good place to fish for potential co-opers that live nearby and are interested. I envision this as an ad hoc group, not a stand alone business operation.

Because the RED ONE is all lies. It doesn't actually exist and never will. People were getting too close to the truth in that thread.

Yes. I wondered that myself. It prompted me to go back and look at the forum guidelines. I couldn't see any rule which it really transgressed, I suppose it could be interpreted as advertising for a business if you really stretched the point, don't see it myself. Interesting that you haven't been notified Zakaree.

thats the thing.. i didnt think it was a stretch. it was just an idea to get people excited about having use for their camera as soon as it arrives.. i am very confused.
and there is no other forum that could belong in.. it is concidered red news...

Say, I'm keen to get on board. I am in a far flung side of the world.
Worked in the industry for 9 years it only makes sense to lease these out as ARRI and Panavision, et al do.

well im very confused on the whole issue. im hoping someone could help me out and let me know what happend. ive seen topics posted where they completely rip on red and are completely abusive to others on dvx.. mine was a kind hearted simple plan to unite all red users!
to those who didnt know what my post was.. i was basically saying
how i want to start up a group of red owners who would like to rent out their cameras.. we would be a panavision type company only the "company" wouldnt own the equipment.. you would.. producers would come to my site ..
digitalcinemacameras.com or another of many sites i have... and find a red camera and /or camera operators in their area.. lets say you have a production going down in pheonix arizona.. i would match up that prodcution with a red owner in that area.. if anything were to happen to that camera or for any reason they needed a new camera asap.. we would have 2 or 3 more back ups right there in pheonix ready to go.. support is what we would be all about! also if anyone had a question about red.. they could call in and we would give technical advice.

the origional post was much better at explaining but i have a headache right now and i fear if i write it up again it will be deleted..


PS.. if this gets deleted then somethings up!!!!!!!

you guys are too paranoid.. that post was flagged as advertising because it was, co-op or no co-op, its part of the advertising policy on dvxuser... of course there is always exceptions and if someone (zakaree) would of actually asked me first if it was fine i would of let it slide... but its not fare to the other sponsors of dvxuser, some that happen to be renting Red cameras.

Im all for the community based connecting for gear, thats what this is all about, but unfortunately we all gotta follow the rules :)
