Yes, as long as your subject is about 2 inches from the camera lens.

Seriously though, the SM57 is a dynamic microphone that is more often than not used to mic instruments and not used for voice. If it was used for voice though, it would need to be hand held by your subject. If wanting a microphone in that category though, I recommend an SM58.

SM57's and 58's have the same diaphragm in them. Practically the same mic. Therefore, the SM58 is not a good choice either. Just thought you should know. A Sennheiser ME66 Short Shotgun is a good affordable choice.

An sm57 or 58 is pretty much the worst possible choice for "shotgun" type applications. Get a real shotgun mic.
