Cameron Fader ND Filter - Anyone using?

My local camera store stocks these. I've been using a Lightcraft variable ND and don't have too many complaints, but it's got a small crack in it so looking for a replacement. Not sure if I'm ready to spend $400 on an ND filter yet.

Any idea how much sharpness I'd lose? Vignetting?

Thanks!

Vignetting - persist in case if stacked filters with exact size of lens filter thread, if stacked larger filters - vignetting will not happens (stack with growing are included).

about sharpness - that will depend on filter quality, and used focal lengths (in combination with distance to object )

+ also in any comparison (ND vs without ND) persist one big factor - DOF at different aperture sizes ... there thinking about pictures must be different

- think you may use any vari-nd, as example pictures for that filter, which was found on the internet, show quite big degradation on zoom

Yep, I have used it and for $60 you can't go wrong.

Now this photo was taken when there was still plenty of sunlight. Check out the cars's trailing lights.[/TD]

Screw all that vignetting crap and sharpness paranoia. Just go out and take photos.
