Question anyone, I was told not to take my A1 on the beach because of moisture, sand & grit. Has this effected any of you alls cameras. One of the instructors at the public access station I'm at was telling me two of their GL2's started acting up after someone used them on the beach. What is you alls take on this matter? Thank you. :)

sand is not a good thing for any cam. cover the cam with a rain cover or trash bag if you have to.

A friend of mine ruined his digital still camera at the beach. He said the salty air got to it.

Yeah, I was thinking about the salty mist of ocean-spray in the air when the wind blows... Dang! Being here in Tampa on gulf doesn't help. Well I guess I will not be going on the beach with my cam. :(

the ewa marine splash bags are really great for this kind of stuff. they just released one specfically sized for the xh a1/g1.
