Camera stopped taking pic/vid

I was out at lunch today taking a few pic and videos and the camera stopped taking pictures. When I press the shutter to take the picture it only shows a black screen... Like it didn't take the photo or video. I did not receive any info about the camera overheating. I had taken 5 or some pictures then it just stopped. Any ideas?

I think you need to give more information about what exactly is happening with the camera.

Does everything seem to be working correctly until you take a picture, at which point the picture shows up as completely black, or is the LCD not working at all?
 
... I was taking photos, then stopped to review them and all I saw was black. Yes, everything seems to be working correctly. The LCD is working. I can AF, look at the menu, view previous photos and videos. I just test and found out that in video mode my audio is recorded but no video. It's all black.
 
Yes, it is a nightmare. I am suppose to do some shooting next week with it. Now, I will be two weeks behind till I get a new one or something different.
