Camera dilemma ... Canon T3i or Sony A57 for video

I have read tons of articles on both cameras but can't find a lot about how the A57 video mode compares in terms of moire, aliasing to the T3i? and if shooting with all settings set to flat -3, will your Sony footage be as easy to grade as Canon's? I know the GH2 is king but I also want an APS sensor and a camera for fast sports video/photo. I will also shoot short films and want to achieve good cinematic look on the Sony that I've seen from Canon users. Is that possible? I know it's about cinematography, lighting etc but I want to make sure I can grade my footage just as well as Canon's.
thx

I know the GH2 is king ...

I'd still say the 5DmkII is king. I still don't hear much about major productions or noted DPs using the GH, but Canon's made some inroads there. (Watch the "we Need to Talk About Kevin" BTS for the latest). But there's the rub - DSLRs open you up to a really intense world of opinions.

That said, at your budget level, I'd look at either GH or Canon, unless you find some new wealth of info on the Sony - if it were a major step up from those major players, I imagine we'd have heard about it by now. Canon gives you a massive amount of user data and accessories, GH a very close second as far as reviews, blog posts, forum info, how-to's, and accessory ideas. Either of those brands could easily give you months of fruitful google searching to learn from. (And damned if I don't really, really like the video look of the Nikon D7000... and that's a hell of a still camera to boot).

I don't know jack about Sony DSLRs; but there's likely good reasons that I don't. Or we're all just a bunch of consumers that are blinded by a couple brands.
