Camera Advice

So I'm selling my DVC80 and D60 to purchase a new T2i.

This is my first venture into DSLR moving images, and although I've used my D60 extensively, I essentially know nothing about DSLR's other focal length, shutter speed, etc. Very basic beginner DLR stuff.

My advice is: For doing films with a DSLR, what are your guys' must have's when starting to do motion on a DLSR.

The stuff I already have in my possession is a Rode NTG-1(I think that's what it is), and a Bogen Manfrotto monopod.

So let me have it! Hopefully with enough responses I'd like to get this bad boy stickied.

Thanks!

For what I do, I wouldn't go without a loupe of some sort (Z-Finder, HoodLoupe, etc.) and a lens with image stabilization..preferably a zoom that has a constant aperture like an EF-S 17-55mm 2.8 IS or Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 VC.

Your monopod will work fine, but a good cheap tripod with a fluid head, like a Velbon 607F or DV-7000, is indispensable if you want steady shots and smooth pans.

The Rode could work but you'll have to get phantom power to it and deal with the connector, impedance, and signal level issues. But, the T2i has non-defeatable AGC..which spoils everything. A good off camera audio recorder is a Zoom H2/H4/H4n.
