Here is the official trailer to my new movie "Call Me King". Written and Directed by me, starring Bai Ling, Bill Cobbs, Robert Miano, Monyque Thompson Scott, Lester Speight, Chris Mulkey, Shaun Mixon, Gabrielle Dennis and a host of others. I also acted as fight choreographer on the movie. It'll be released late 2013, early 2014.

it gave me goose bumps.
I could only dream of working on a production like this, incredible pro feel to it. Well done!

Clearly, the budget was there. Much is asked of those who have much - all about audience expectations. When a little indie production is obviously shot on a tiny budget, the audience cuts slack on that (up to a point... bad audio is unforgivable regardless of budget), and that sometimes can even be an asset. Meanwhile, if the budget is there, it's going up against hollywood productions, and then it becomes all about the experience - the story, the acting, the mood, and the audience cuts no slack; sometimes you can count on special niche audience and again they'll cut you slack: urban, horror, kung-fu etc., but you gotta deliver on those.

Having the budget is fantastic - anyone struggling with zero funds dreams of shooting a decently financed picture. But then there's the flip side - you might take fewer creative risks, simply because you have the option and you don't have a knife on your throat; the audience's expectations are raised; your own expectations of where the movie goes and its success are raised too... if you shoot a $10K feature, you rarely expect it to go anywhere all on its own (if you are sane), but if you shoot a bigger budget movie, you really, really put a lot of eggs in that basket, and you (and your financiers) have expectations that the film is going to do much on its own... and now you hit the reality that you're competing against hollywood - how do you stack up? Tricky.

Anyone who completes a full-feature is a g-damn hero - let alone one like this one here, "Call Me King", where it must have taken quite some doing to come up with a budget that's respectable, so all I can do is say: respect. Best of luck, may it go far!

The movie looks fantastic!
If there would be a #2 trailer though, I'd perhaps cut down on the fades (they look cheap when used excessively), and remove the shots that aren't golden (Some look less 'trailer worthy' than others), and restrict myself to a maximum of 2 aerial shots - All while cutting the running time by 30 seconds. And the fancy "Their rules. No prisoners" title sequence felt a bit random towards the end as we hadn't been introduced to it earlier.

Thanks :) I had a passionate cast and crew. Everyone pushed hard and gave one hundred percent. The actors all performed their own stunts/ fights.

@ OldCorpse, well said. Definitely one of the hardest things to do is complete a feature film. It grows you in a way that can't be explained.
