Hi everybody, here 2 stuffs from Cabaret Bord de scène written by Michel Pirot.
I had the dvx for 3 month and i was shooting 4:3, i was not accustomed with 16:9.

So the first is a wink to show that love is everywhere....http://vimeo.com/4788752

The second one is another wink for the musicians of this cabaret, i had the idea to put pictures on another music, i spend few hours in:http://vimeo.com/4789004

i'm assuming "wink" means promo or something...in anycase i like these :) quality and colour grading are nice :)

what are ur encoding methods? u seem to get really nice quality.

I use The ligos encoder from Magix Video Deluxe, it's a Dutch editing software that is rapid, easy to use, export as Mpeg2 progressif 3000kb/s for web.
When i need other color correction or effect i use Ae.

For "wink" i mean fun thing.

that was fun watching!
btw, how do you only leave some colors in the black and white footages? I've always woundered how it's done...

Ryvav, for the color leave, it's a long work of masking in Ae:
2 same shot, 2 above each other, the one below is desatureted and adjusted in level( background).
The other above wich is foreground is masked sometimes frame by frame to reach the thing i will to be in color and is enhanced in color when needed.
A famous movie wich used this technic is Sin City that everybody has to be seen it. If no, hurry up!!!!

i use Priemier CS3....i have colour pass effect there...its not as good as the method padmoive pointed out and its not as flexible,(at least i dont think)but its a decent effect.

Yes Jambredz, the problem with the color pass effect is that the scene need to be clean , otherwize u will see the color u choosen on other place of the scene.
But i don't use premiere or fcp so, i can't see if they have put some other tools to make the job easiest. Finally i think that the better way or quality to make this effect is MASK MASK MASK MASK MASK MASK!!!! :)
