Right, I should have clarified that -- $25,999 is THE price that all Canon authorized dealers will sell it at, not just FilmTools.

Point I was trying to get across is that Jim's not speculating, he's an authorized dealer and has been told by Canon USA that $25,999 is THE price that the C500 will sell for, everywhere.

There are Cinema EOS White Papers here, including one called "Best Practices for Data Managemnt"

The Codec White Paper also has data rates fro the C300 and C500 with the process flow to the recorde toward the end (page 16.) I'm not sure if that supplies exactly what you are looking for?

so,

maybe this is a dumb question, but without an external recorder, what upgrades would one get from the c500?

I don't know why all of that great info is so hidden on the Canon site.

I had a hard time finding it every time I went back to their main site. I finally added it to my "favorites bar" so I could find it.

I think basically Canon is just too big of a company sometimes, this stuff gets buried....

guys maybe a dump question , but does the c500 has any kind of handle from the right side like c300 has, as i dont see it on pix......
