C500: C500 EF camera with PL lenses, what are your results?

Hey guys,

Done a crap load of research on what conversion I should buy and still not able to make a decision. I have a few films I am shooting next year.
I currently own a Cooke Varotal 20-100 PL Mount and would really like to convert the C500 EF Camera to use it.
The zoom is amazing. Reportedly Kubricks favorite. Creamy buttery images! I used it on my Sony F35 when I had that camera.

So it is 2 questions I have:

1. Does anyone have any recommendations on which conversions would work best? I am looking to purchase a steel version.
I am well aware of the flange distance problems/considerations/limitations (especially with the C500). The Cooke Varotal should work perfectly fine though because its flange distance measurements fall into the less than 1/4 in. category which is on the smaller side of PL Mount Glass.

2. Does anyone have any recommendations on PL Mount Primes that could work in this scenario? And furthermore I am trying to find a set or a few that could fit the same image quality as the Cooke Varotal I have (this combination I'm not sure exists).

Thanks for input!
Have a Happy New Year!

I think the old 20-100 only covered Academy 35, not Super-35 (Super-35 includes the area on Academy reserved for the audio stripe). And the C500 sensor is actually slightly larger than Super-35. You'll likely need the 18-100 that replaced the 20-100, but you should check all this with someone like Matt Duclos at Duclos Lenses. He would know it by heart.
