C300: C300MkII refuses to power up!!!!

On a paying job with full crew and talent.

Changed battery and my C300MKII refused to power up. Used alternative battery and still no luck.
Talent and crew standing around waiting to film to camera piece and there was nothing I could do.

After repeatedly changing batteries and repeated attempts to start nothing happened.
Producer was understandably not thrilled.

After trying to power up for 30 minutes it finally powered up.
Is there some kind of re-set that can be performed when camera won't power up?
This situation was quite embarrassing for myself and certainly not great when a whole bunch of people being paid on the clock are unable to work.

I seem to remember that someone in this forum had a similar problem.

OMG, that would be my nightmare. My A camera is usually my C100 with the Blade or rented C300 or 300 MKII if they need 4k. I always grab my 5D MKIII and throw it in my backpack for just such eventualities. I actually had it on a job in Cape Town, it was pouring and we had to shoot out in the rain with no shelter. I know my C100 would short out in heavy rain so grabbed the 5D MKIII and shot all morning in the downpour, shot some stand up BTS interviews and b-roll of a big protest scene on on a TV show with hundreds of extras, the 5D MKIII saved my bacon. Once the sun came out, switched to the C100 but I never leave on a shoot without a spare body. You should consider picking up a C100 MKI to just have in your bag. Wouldn't be 4K but in many situations, rolling some good 1080 would still save the day for you.

After a phone call to Lemac Melbourne where I purchased the camera, within 5 minutes they had called Canon and arranged a replacement camera. Just unbelievable service. Will keep posted on the problem and why it happened. They think probably a hardware problem.

I have a C100 MKI, still such a great little camera in so many ways. I was using custom profiles in the C300MKII so can't replicate exactly on the C100 but it still rocks, I love that camera.
