C300: C300 short with Samyang lenses - Completed Short added.

As Noel pointed out "focal distance can be a pain in the A**." I would consider a macro lens to stop worrying about the near limit and the 100L macro is one of the best macro lenses and not expensive.

I lost a friend to crack in the late 80's (just disappeared, forever- no body as in Dusty's case), so it rang oh-too-true.

As far as your changes in lighting/composition, can you please be a little more specific, Noel?

And Canon Log -7 sharpness is the full extent of your profile?

Also, why is it out for only a week? Festival bound?

brilliant post and I thought it was brilliant video, especially the headshot of the lass. Ive been wanting to see more film showcasing the samyang gear as ive been going in circles as what kit to get next and not many people rent it close to me.

Thanks for watching mate and sad to hear another person mention they lost someone to drugs.

Actually changed for the Samyang. With a really sharp bit of glass, I find it best to dial the C300 down a little, -7 as you correctly pointed out. With the Samyang lenses Im using the straight Cinema locked Canon Log profile. Nothing changed.

As far as lighting and composition for these lenses, what they seem to do OK is flare smoothly. Not sure I can explain that better? Just dont mind the flare characteristic which is probably due to the cheaper lens coatings? But I did allow a bit of light leak when I set these up to play on that a bit. Did it work aesthetically well? I like the look overall. How about you?

Yeah off to fests from here, will see how it goes.

Thanks for your final compliment. Sometimes I wonder why... this one was a real push to get done on my schedule.
