C300 + O'connor O-Box ---- need help.

Hi all,
I've just ordered a c300 and want to put an O-box on rods with it. Has anyone found a quality baseplate that works for the c300 and a matte box that is not height adjustable?
I wrote Zacuto and they didn't seem to be sure if it would work or not-- i found this surprising- they said to measure it out and consider using their riser. the only review i've seen of their baseplate was on BH and was a very negative review.
I don't want a big cage rig, I want a simple baseplate with rods for FF and MB.
thanks

Thanks guys!!! Really appreciate the replies. I just found this: http://www.filmtools.com/arri-adapter-plate-for-canon-c300.html
It's Arri's plate for the c300 specifically. I'm leaning towards this one now because of their quality products and I like the simple look of it. It looks sturdier than the Zacuto Gorilla but I believe is less bulky than the Zacuto studio one.
I'm hoping that it will actually work with my Sachtler and Manfrotto tripod plates mounted to the bottom, and I don't need to get the extra components to make that work (http://www.filmtools.com/arri-lws-set-for-canon-c300.html).

BTW, I also discovered this: http://16x9inc.com/shop/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=788 which seems well built and like a great deal. I love the idea bellows filter holder with the Arri MMB-1 and the O-Box, and this one is less expensive with everything together. I've seen this brand around but haven't seen many reviews and usually like to stick to highest quality gear with name brands for resale value, etc. Thoughts?

Thanks!

The ARRI C300 base is very nice and indeed less bulky than the Zacuto studio version for the C300. You do in fact need that second piece for the ARRI, otherwise you will not be able to attach it to your tripod.

I would recommend the ARRI or OConnor matteboxes over the Movcam. My taste.

BTW, whichever way you decide, we could assist you in this purchase. Not trying to sway, just offer info.

I bought the Arri setup for my c300. I have tried many systems, but this one provided critical travel adjustment for proper balance on my tripod. Plus the Arri precision is second to none.arri-photo.jpg

Get this one…

I used it with a C300 and O-Box and it worked perfectly.

Hey Stephen, have you used this baseplate with the MMB-2? because this is the baseplate I have and it says on their website that it's not compatible with standard and non adjustable height matte box

now, the link that you gave is for the zacuto gorilla baseplate. You may have meant the zacuto C300 studio baseplate. No?

If that works I am interested in your matte box then :)

shortnsout... your name sounds familiar, do I know you? small world ;-)

Hey Art! Cool rig. I which Chrosziel mb is that? And what flexible light protection (nun's knickers) are you using? I went with the arri mmb-2 and the airri c300 baseplate. it's been great but haven't found a great donut solution. I like the foldable top flag on that chrosziel much more than the one on the mmb-2 but liked the price of my unit. everything is great about it except for the locking screws on the side are a pain. thanks!

Thanks.

The matte box is older, bought it way back for my HPX500. I think it's the 411. The donut is Zacuto Universal Donut. http://store.zacuto.com/universal-donut.html

I owned many matte boxes, some good, some bad. I like the idea of the Letus MB with 2 filter trays and a circular tray for a polarizer. Chrosziel is good, but not cheap :-)
