C300: C300 Mkii Magnification- 2x, 4x 8x

So on the Canon USA forum Mike from Canon said the the camera can have up to 8x magnification- then the thread stopped and he never explained how to increase the magnification function from 2x to 4x or 8x. It's not in the manual. Anyone know how to do this? Playing around in the menus I didn't see the obvious option.
 
I recall hearing about this in early Canon marketing/literature but the feature doesn't seem to have made it to the finalized camera. Be nice to get in a firmware update.
 
Canon confirmed- it was in a pre-release camera, but was taken off the production camera. Would have been nice...
