C300: C300 MKI look

Most of those shots are probably C-Log. Gives you the most dynamic range but requires the most color grading in post (though it's not really very much effort in post by modern standards).

Here's what i just said in another thread about other options:

Wide Dr (CP8) is the consensus favorite non-log format.

Normal 1 (cp1) i a great rec 709 profile when you can control the dynamic range.

I like a CINE 1 or 2 based profile for high ISO shooting.

what about CP CINEMA Locked mode?
I never owned a C300 Mark I, but on the C100 Mark I and Mark II, CP Cinema Locked was different from C-log as far as I could tell. It was a much crunchier profile, to be avoided. Whenever I get my hands on someone else's C100, I often change the profile from CP Locked (which the camera comes stock with) to either Wide DR or C-log (typically asking them, to which they often shrug and say okay since they don't know about it).

I still avoid C-log when shooting on C100s in general, but some people I work with want it. I notice it used to be a lot more popular before people...in my opinion...caught on to how poor it is to use on the C100. I'm speaking internal codec.

I use C-log in C300 all the time. Doesn't take even couple of mins to edit for most of the shots in FCPX. These days there is a built-in LUT directly applied by FCPX to the footage. So if you shoot accordingly, then it would be fine. Since you are shooting a film I am sure there would be colour grading. So better to use the c-log mode.
