C300: C300 Mk1 - LCD unit has very dominant blue cast/tint.

So after my original C300 mk1 LCD unit failed (again!) I purchased a used one from Ebay.

It works however there is a very deep blue cast/tint to the screen, especially in dark areas. It makes judging colour balance very difficult. I have attached images to try and show what is happening.

I believe it is an issue with the LCD screen as no colour settings have been changed.

Is this a known issue?

It's a known issue with quality control with screens in general (and not just the color blue/purple). Sometimes the tint may worsen over time.

If you search Blackmagic's 6K Pro "blue tint", it's one of the latest cameras that had some issues (not all shipped units), but I believe they fixed it via FW, which is probably some sort of calibration process (can't say for sure though).

Although any FW with the Canon is of course not going to happen.
