C300: C300 MK II Monitor Too High - What's your fix?

Loving the MK II, but I've noticed when on the shoulder, the monitor is way too high. You end up craning your neck for hours at a time, it's just not pleasant. I've tried with both the Canon top handle and my Zacuto helmet/top handle setup, and both ways the monitor just doesn't feel right..even when folded down. Have tried putting it on a strong arm too.

Do any of you have a good fix for this problem?

Thanks

The stock handle is garbage. There are better solutions from zacuto, movcam or wooden camera.

My solution involves the movcam top handle, the fs7 evf relocator from wooden camera and a cold shoe lock from small rig.

Not a mark II, but here is how I do it:

This puts the monitor right in front of my eyes and is perfect for my rig. Note that I have configured this as a "quick release" type of solution, so that I can without tools re-position the monitor closer to the camera for when I go handheld. In the middle picture you can see how this "mechanism" can be replaced by two 15mm rods for a much simpler solution.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

Hey AlexNor. Can you say wich parts you use for helmet and all at the top of the camera? (I see you have a lot of wooden camera stuff)

Kind regards,
Benjamin

Here is the complete parts list for the top part of the camera as seen in the photos:

Element Technica C300/C500 Top Plate with Side Supports
Wooden Camera NATO Handle Kit (Cheese, 70mm)
Wooden Camera Safety NATO Rail (70mm)
Wooden Camera Safety NATO Rail (100mm)
3 pcs Wooden Camera NATO Lock (Clamp Only)
Wooden Camera Universal Hot Shoe (Please note: You need to file off a little bit on top of the two "lips" on the shoe for it to fit the C300 monitor unit. Until the black coating is gone is sufficient. Also, there is a slight wiggle room with it attached to the monitor unit. It bothered me a bit so I cut a small piece of a plastic zip tie and vedget it between the side of the cold shoe on the monitor unit and the WC Hot Shoe. This makes the connection rock solid.
SmallRig Quick Release Safety Raim 7cm (I use this and some other parts for attaching my microphone)
2 pcs SmallRig Thread Adapter with female 3/8" to male 1/4" thread 1027
5 pcs Sunwayfoto Stainless Steel 1/4" to 3/8" Tripod Adapter/Bushing
HoldFast Gear The Camera Holdfast Accessory Clip
3 pcs 1/4-20 x 3/8 socket cap screw
2 pcs 1/4-20 x 1/2 socket cap screw
2 pcs 1/4"-20 nuts. Filed down on two sides so they fit into the slot of the 100mm NATO rail.
4 pcs M6 or 1/4" washer. When the monitor is positioned for handheld use, these are needed for spacing so the monitor and open and close without touching the edge of the top handle.
Blue Locktite
