C300: C300 Mark II weight

Hi guys, I can't figure out how is the weight (in kilograms) of C300 mark II with all accessories, with grip unit, lens, battery, hand grip and monitor, it's possible to use with one hand or it's too heavy? Thanks! :-)

Body only = 1.8kg
Body with card, battery, handgrip, monitor, depending on which battery and one vs. two cards, = approximately 3.5kg

One hand would not be steady, even with a C100 it's not steady, you always need two hands and to brace the camera against your body to get usable shots. Why one hand, would you be rock climbing or hanging off the mast of a ship? ;-)

Thanks Puredrifting,
I think the weight is similar to FS7 full equipped (1 kg more on the Sony), so I realize the reason of solutions like the shoulder Zacuto rig, the camera full equipped is heavy.

Yes, I shot an all-day wedding with the C300/II, and it was very heavy. I think I even left off the top handle and just attached the monitor unit directly to the cold shoe on top of the body. Though I may have had the Shape baseplate with rails on too.

At the end of the night, I switched over to my C100/II, and I was tossing that thing around like it was made of paper. It must be what batters feel like when they take the weighted doghnut thing off their bats...

It's amazing the difference in weight between carrying a camera isometrically versus supported. You can easily support a full loaded C300 MKII on your shoulder if it is balanced correctly and if you have a quality, comfortable shoulder pad like the one on the Zacuto VCT Pro Baseplate. Carrying a video camera in front of you never works out well, it's okay for grabbing a quick shot or sequence here or there but for shooting long periods, you are fighting your own body. It's the same as the famous bar bet. Nobody can hold a mug of beer in their outstretched hand without spilling some or all of it for more than about :30-:60, it doesn't matter how buff or strong they are. Holding 5-7lbs video camera away from your body is the same bet. The EOS C camera ergonomic design is really unrealistic for professional use but they have succeeded in spite of that, just as the RED cameras have, but plenty of us are grumbling the whole way.

I think the camera body weight is really approaching the limits of what the plasticky side handle can take.

When holding the camera with one hand in the side handle it really doesn't feel that solid.

I've added a 2nd handle on the left side to help when I'm going handheld + autofocus.

I hope they'll bring out a better one with extra buttons or switch to another attachment method like a rosette in future versions.
