C300: C300 mark 2 price drop in France

Hello guys, C300 Mark 2 is now 13900 euros HT instead of 15000 euros HT. Maybe this price drop means there will be a paid firmware update for 4K 60p ?

its not the discount its what it always was since day 1, - and even now 13900 is too expansive
cvp has it for 12368e, -

also keep in mind that price u see on any dealers website is just a list price, for a real and good offer u have to contact and negotiate..... thats how it is in EU , i am 99.9% confident that its possible to find eu dealer with the price of around 11,5 k eur.....+ vat, and i expect it could go even lower after Nab

4k 60p - is not going to happen, keep dreaming....

No it was not the price in France "since day 1". Until now it was 15000 euros. Since this morning there is a 1100 euro price drop in all dealers in France. One of them made another price drop to 12400 euros.

Until NAB, yes, I keep dreaming for 4K 60p.

they just never updated its price since announcement when the actual list price was not yet available... its just an informational thing

have u ever seen the price for any product exactly straight? 11 000 or 12000 , or 13k or 15k? i really dont remember such thing .... even if they would ever want to charge 15k it would be 14 995....
it was already told that its not possible technically not in or out, as even for out there is just 1 3G sdi, but for 4k 60p it needs 2 , just like in c500. as for nab,- yes i would like the pigs to fly.....

C300 mark 2 have 2 3G-SDI output just like C500.

I talked with Canon's professional deparement in France during C300 Mark 2 conferences and they said there is no technical limitation for 4K 60p. When I asked them why there is no 4K 60p they said it is because japanese people don't like it at all (what a bad joke!). I was very surprised when I saw on the forum that there are technical limitations.

So if there is no hardware limitation maybe that will be one of the surprises at nab?? Firmware update for 4K 60p to compete with the Panasonic and Sony offerings... Only time will tell..

It will drop in the US too, probably sooner than later. My guess, C300 MkII $12,999 at NAB...

There's been so many different Canon reps saying so many different things about the C300mk2 and what it would do. Just take the false rumor of 4K60P RAW out, which was re-iterated by CANON reps. Or the 4K baseband video out of the HDMI plug that was told to Phillip Bloom. (The HDMI is HD only now! No 2K, no RAW, no 4K)

Then there is the original manual, which I do have a copy of since I have a very early serial no, which is littered with references to various features that are MIA. F.ex. 2K/HD 444 60P... Or the HDMI out being 720x480 at 60fps (The HDMI output of my C300mk2 is 1080/60P)

Basically, it's hard to tell if Canon originally intended the C300mk2 to be limited to 4K30P or if they just hit a road block.
