C300: C300 Mark 2: EF / PL mount switch process

Hi,

Has anybody tried the process? How much does it cost / will it take to have the ef mount swapped for PL?. Once swapped, how feasible is to go back to ef for the user?.

I've spent several years as a camera tech in a rental house, doing everything from lens collimation to camera upgrades, mainly in arri / red cameras, but I cannot find a detailed whitepaper or mount / shim kit available for general public.

Any info on this?

You have to do the initial swap through Canon. If I remember it's a little costly. But after that you have both mounts and from my understanding you can swap them yourself, but it does have some added complexity due to the AF functionality of the camera. Some rental houses are able to do the swap as well I know AbleCine does it for around the same price as canon.
 
And we do them here with our rental cameras....Its $1820 to go EF to PL the first time at Canon Service centers..then $500 + shipping after that.....or do it yourself. It is more expensive to go from PL to EF ($2120) or EF to EF locking.....

No...because they want to do the change. If you've been involved in changing mounts, it should not be too hard.....our rental dept. changes many different cameras and lenses.
