Aaron I'm curious where are you debayering the footage? Using Canon's RAW Development software or DaVinci? If Canons - what are you exporting in?I've been very impressed with how much more I can push raw footage over the internally shot footage.
The camera does 10-bit white balanced RAW, right? Is it linear?
Codex and Odyssey 7Q are the only recorders I know of that can actually record RAW data in .rmf.
The Atomos gear has been promising .dng for a while but I don't think that ever came to fruition.
The VideoDevices and AJA gear are strictly ProRes.
I get about 28 minutes per 512GB on my Odyssey in RAW, keep in mind it's a zero compression RAW compared to RED's 3:1 or 6:1. But I did the math and end up at about 2,600Mb/s compared to the internal rate of 410Mb/s.
Only time I would really consider RAW is for heavy VFX work where all that data is necessary. The internal compression is so good I usually rely on that.
Where did you hear that Atomos have given up on CinemaDNG?

Yep - pretty beefy!28 mins per 512gb with the c300m2 and 7Q+??
That's been the promise. Currently, to my knowledge, all the Atomos products will do is take Canon RAW and convert it to ProRes HQ or DNxHD.So the atomos products would potentially debayer and convert the canon raw to dng? Sorry for the newb questions. I am totally new to the raw workflow.
