C200: C200b/Ronin-s Doc-style shoot

This is my first real outing with my C200b/Ronin-s combo and I think it was great. The side handles are definitely a necessity but it's nice having a smallish rig for gimbal work, especially since I love the versatility of gimbals. Unfortunately the audio messed up on my external lav for one of the interviews but aside from that flub the shoot went pretty smoothly.

Also since I was crunched for time I shot it all with natural light, even the interviews. The versatility in post is amazing when shooting Raw and I only did quick grades in FCPX.

Anyway here's the video. Let me know what you all think: https://vimeo.com/313811375

Very cool! Which lens did you go with? I can't quite make it out in the picture.

I have a Ronin S that I'm mainly using for me Canon 80D but I've mounted my C200 once already and it seemed solid if not heavy AF lol. I bought a rosette adapter for the right mount on the Ronin so I can relocate the grip there.

Do you have the C200 without the EVF btw?

Thanks man! I think in the picture it's a 35mm 1.4 but for the video I only used a 24mm 1.4.

And it's definitely heavy but I noticed if you hold the Ronin-s where the center of gravity is it helps distribute the weight more and feel a lot less heavy. That's why I have those handles so high up and those two weights on the bottom. The gimbal does bump into them occasionally but pretty rarely. Here's a link to those handles if you're interested: https://www.amazon.com/DF-DIGITALFO...=UTF8&qid=1548955599&sr=8-19&keywords=ronin-s

And yeah it's the C200b so there's no EVF.

Very cool, I have the standard C200 so I'm not sure if I can invert without the EVF getting in the way but we'll see as I start to do more tests.

Honestly I've tried inverting a couple times but it doesn't seem as stable when its inverted. It seems overly sensitive even though none of the setting had changed. Not sure if it has anything to do with the balance, but with the handles I was able to get pretty low shots of the kids without inverting. My back's only slightly more curved now lol.
