C200 UHD Crop zoom?

Hi guys, I like shooting in 4k UHD with my Sony A7SII and A7R3 cameras and then editing on a 1080P timeline so I can crop zoom in post as needed, even up to 100% with excellent results. Does the C200 record sharp enough 4K to be able to do that or is it not full raster / too soft / too noisy?

Only the CRL RAW, which you'd find is likely sharper than the a7SII or a7RIII you're used to now. Could get noisy quickly tho (w/ high ISOs).

Thank you Norbro, so I'm gussing the internal MP4 codec would only be able to crop zoom in a little before noticeable quality loss? How about if using an external recorder?

I think it could work, especially a little, if you're not expecting too much - but it's noticeably weaker in every way than the RAW (as one would expect).

External recording might improve it a bit but that camera is really meant to be used with CRL DCI 4K (and it's a great example from Canon how with the switch of a button they can immediately crush the IQ in a system).

CRL is beautiful though, especially when lit well.

I can confirm, external recording will not yield better results if shooting MP4 or XF internally. But I will echo Nor, CRL looks incredibly sharp in comparison
