Hi I just can't get HDMI and SDI output simultaneously. I have the latest firmware.
It only works when you put - SDI always on - (linked to videoterminal) but
its shows the menu as overlay. Any help

Yep, Canon screwed us over with this one. Talk about a tease.

My solution is a BMD Mini Convertor but the HDMI and SDI handshakes on these are weird, sometimes I have
to play with the order the BMD, camera and receiving monitor or live streaming system are
booted to get them to work, they are not just plug and play as they should be.

As a solution we send a program out from Vmix to my Atomos Shogun SDI in so I still have SDI/monitoring and ......... I see what's actual switching.
But its strange that we don't get a clean SDI output and HDMI at the same time

Professional who has been working for decades in TV and/or Production: I need multiple, simultaneous clean outputs.

Canon Cinema: Why in the world would you ever want to do that?!

Super strange, makes zero sense.

Where it's killing me is the ATEM Mini Pro is so freaking handy for multi-camera monitoring. But the catch is, it's HDMI input only and we need to see the output of multiple cameras
before it hits vMix simply for seeing if shots are "editable" against each other as far as framing and composition, checking for headroom offsets from shot to shot. The little BMD convertors
kind of work but extra cables, expense, failure points, etc. Often the cams are on stage and the vMix system might be in another room a hundred feet away so I like to do this for my camera
ops when we have stacked cameras, often near each other so they don't inadvertently replicate each others framing and the frames are cut-able with each other.

This is really the only thing with our C200 that I REALLY dislike besides the idiotic location of the camera exhaust fan and intake inlet.

Different circumstances, but for the live ATEM stuff I've been doing I go SDI out of camera to Teradek, then SDI out of Teradek to my on-camera monitor and then the Teradek receiver we go HDMI out to the ATEM Mini Pro. One time we even went SDI [Camera>Wireless Transmitter>On-Camera Monitor] HDMI [Wireless Receiver>Additional Monitor>ATEM>Multiview Monitor. Obviously involves throwing a wireless system into the equation, but allows everything at the camera to happen via SDI and everything at the ATEM to happen via HDMI without having to do long HDMI cable runs.

There many ways to overcome Canon's cripple hammer. But for something like this, we REALLY shouldn't have to. All involve extra gear, expense, cabling, adapters, splitters and most importantly failure points that make pro users nervous.
I agree with Run & Gun, If a manufacturer deigns to make a camera "professional", they should absolutely, 100% have at least two and really three clean video outputs, that's just a standard need on almost every set and every situation except a few.
Since I haven't shot with it yet, what does the C300 MKIII give you as far as simultaneous (clean) outputs?

I think it's actually worse than the C200. Can't do Monitor (sdi) out at the same time as HDMI out, but can do SDI out simultaneously as Monitor or HDMI **BUT** SDI out will only output the exact resolution your shooting, so if you're shooting 4K you have to have a monitor that displays 4K (which I do not have). So unless I'm filming native in 1920x1080 using the SDI out port is useless, so you're back to where we were with the C200 pre-firmware update.

I would have to assume Canon will fix this (eventually) if they were able to "fix" it on the C200.....

Oh damn, that's really disappointing. I had no idea and thought they would have improved it since with every release, Canon touts "this new camera has two of the latest Digic XX processors". Such bulls*%t, that's ridiculous.
They are selling the DGO like every pro must have it yet overlook the obvious that every pro with an $11k camera needs three clean SDI outputs or at least two and HDMI, not constrained. My $890.00 XT-3 can shoot 4K yet output
an FHD signal!

Canon's really beginning to annoy me, not because of the limitations of my C200 but because of the limitations on a much newer and supposedly more powerful camera like the C300 MKIII, they are going backwards with
the simple things that pros REALLY need and want to actually do paying work on professional sets. They're starting to remind me of the camera version of Premiere, giving users a bunch of dumb bloatware while neglecting to
give every professional editor what they need above all else, reliability and stability. With Canon and the C300 MKIII, look we're giving you this amazing new sensor but ignoring giving you enough outputs to do professional work
on set.
