C200: C200 handle on hard shell carry on case

Normally when I use my C200 I leave the handle on and have a backpack deep enough that I don't have to take the handle off.

For carry on though I use Pelican 1510s, but with those I have to take the handle off.

Dimension requirements vary from airline to airline but I've been looking for a deeper case so I don't have to take the handle off, but all the deeper cases seem to exceed one of the airlines dimensions.

Am I just wasting my time here looking for a hard shell case where I don't have to take the C200 handle off when I travel.?

It's insured, but I'm not a big fan of checking the C200 into luggage.

And of course, not a big fan of having a camera missing when I arrive at my destination.

You could possibly find a "doctor's bag" style of camera bag that would meet carry on dimensions where you could leave your camera completely rigged up, but that sounds like a more expensive and less practical solution than just taking the handle off.... (and it wouldn't have wheels so you'd have to carry it instead of rolling a 1510)

I've been using this Tenba bag as my carry-on for the past 5 years.

I take the inner sections out, and the 4 walls are also removable to have it stretch out a bit more. I've had cameras rigged and ready-to-go that are larger than the C200.

There are other options as well, but I randomly saw that one at B&H back then and bought it. It's been great for me because it's so light and when you remove the sections and sides, it can fit more by stretching a bit (as mentioned).

The dimensions are very close to what most airlines list, but I never even get a look since most people's roller cases are a bit larger with the wheels sticking out. Anything that doesn't roll that doesn't draw attention (for the most part).

I can easily fit my full configured C200 into my Sachtler Dr Bag. I don't, I break it down and pack it all in lens wraps in a Tom Bihn backpack but I could carry it in my Sachtler bag if being built was a requirement.

I have a pelican im2500 storm case and the camera with top handle fits sideways, hand grip facing up. It looks like the pelican 1510 has .5 of an inch less width but it should still fit?
