Hey I'm looking for this little bold that attaches the lcd attachment to the top handle. Anyone know where I'd be able to get JUST that bolt without having to buy the entire Canon LA-V2 attachment?
I did some measurements, it's just a 1.5" long 1/4"x20 bolt with a 3/16 hex head, and the "screw" portion of the real thing is about 11mm long with 8.8mm of it being screw. The rest of it just kind of aligns it with the body of the mount.
If you're in a pinch you could just get an appropriately sized bolt and washer (or however many washers are necessary) and do that? At least before you're able to get ahold of the real one. Obviously it doesn't even need to have the same head, so you could just pick whatever works for you, but yeah I'd just get a
1.5" 1/4x20 bolt and a couple washers to put tension on the mount like it's supposed to. Probably wouldn't wiggle around too much.
Only thing is the gaskets probably won't be worth sourcing with this DIY method because they'd be stuck around the screw and not a piece of smooth metal, which I imagine would shred them. In any case, I think it'd be a decent temporary fix overall.
